City Brights III

ABQ Artwalk attendees walk on Central Ave. with City Brights III sculpture, Roadrunner 66 by Ashley and Jonathan LeBlanc at Curious Toast Cafe.

May is the final month to enjoy temporary light-based art installations from local artists around Downtown. The City of Albuquerque Public Art Departments’ City Brights project is in year three and works to encourage engagement between artists and the downtown community. This year nine local artists were chosen to showcase their projects. Display locations are a mix of public and private spots, and are best viewed when the sun goes down.

A great chance to explore the streets of Downtown Albuquerque is during the monthly Albuquerque Artwalk. The Artwalk map highlights the locations of City Brights III installations with light bulbs. Six of the nine installations are on view this month.

Details about each piece, the artist, location and links to their online presence can be found on the City’s Public Art website.
