Pull out your phone and tap on any of the tours below to get started. The link will take you to a new webpage where you can choose any of the three tours. Have fun and experience something new!
Take a step back in time while experiencing the present with our historic buildings and landmarks tour. Downtown Albuquerque was established in the 1880s as “New Town” to distinguish itself from Old Town just down the road. With the addition of the railroad, New Town quickly grew into what would become downtown Albuquerque today.
Explore Downtown Albuquerque with our self-guided public art walking tour. Discover 19 eye-catching murals while enjoying a one-hour stroll through the heart of Albuquerque. Each mural on the tour provides insight into its creation, as well as information on the talented local, national, and international artists who have beautified Downtown. The muraled walls of Downtown ABQ tell stories of identity, placemaking, and belonging.
Downtown Albuquerque is home to the only Arts & Cultural District in the city, and is one of the most concentrated areas for the arts in Albuquerque. Take in art from local New Mexicans, as well as national and international names. This tour will take you to the doorstep, but be sure to check business hours if you want to truly explore each location.

Acknowledgements
Land Acknowledgement
Downtown ABQ MainStreet and Arts & Cultural Districts acknowledge that the place our mission is centered to support resides on the unceded ancestral lands of the Tiwa or Tigua people. For thousands of years, the Tiwa people stewarded the land that is now Downtown Albuquerque. The ancestors of these stewards have been present through every era of Downtown, and actively continue that guidance today. This calls us to commit to continuing to learn how to be better stewards of the land ourselves and partners of those who hold that connection.
Tri-Cultural Myth Acknowledgement
Downtown ABQ Mainstreet also recognizes that its staff and programs function in a state that has long carried a tri-cultural myth: a narrative that defines the state’s culture solely as a harmonious blend of Indigenous, Hispanic/Latino, and Anglo heritages. Through our work, we recognize, honor, and highlight communities who expand beyond the tri-cultural narrative of New Mexico, including Black, Asian American, and Pacific Islander (AAPINH) communities whose impact has been critical to the artistry of this place.
